Requirements for the application
5.1 Nomination "Wind and percussion instruments"
5.1.1. The program consists of one extended work or two works of different character. The program is executed from memory. In the program, you can perform individual parts of works of large form. Duration of performance from start to finish:
• age groups 1 - 3 up to 5 minutes
• age groups 4 - 6 up to 6 minutes
• age groups 7 - 11 up to 7 minutes
5.2. Nomination "Vocal Art"
5.2.1. In the nomination "Vocal art" - pop vocals and jazz vocals, the program consists of one song. The song is sung from memory. The duration of the performance from start to finish is up to 5 minutes.
5.2.2. If desired, you can perform up to three songs. Each additional song is paid separately in full, subject to a separately completed application. Each contestant can take part in different categories.
5.2.3. The accompaniment soundtrack (minus) of the competition song must be of proper (high) quality and recorded in one of the following formats: *.mp3, *.aac, *.ogg and sent in the form when filling out the application. The file name must contain the last and first name of the participant.
5.2.4. Performance to a plus soundtrack or to a minus soundtrack with a prescribed main melody ("karaoke") is not allowed.
5.2.5. In the application for each nomination, it is necessary to indicate what kind of accompaniment will be used: with a phonogram or with live piano accompaniment. There is a piano on the stage.
5.3 Nomination "Small instrumental Ensemble" - (from 2 to 5 performers)
5.3.1. To participate applicants are allowed small instrumental ensemble, from 2 to 5 participants, in form of standard instrumental groups or in free form: the set of participating musical instruments is free.
5.3.2. The program should consist of two diverse or one extended work, performed acoustically (without phonogram and microphones).
5.3.3. The participation of teachers or professional accompanist in the age groups 1 and 2 is not allowed.
5.3.4. Performance duration:
- age group - elementary music school / children's art school - up to 5 minutes
- age group - secondary music school students - up to 6 minutes
- age group - professional performers - up to 7 minutes
- age group - teachers - up to 7 minutes
5.4 Nomination "Small vocal Ensemble" - (from 2 to 8 performers)
5.4.1. To participate are allowed: a duet, trio, or quartet, consisting of 2 to 8 participants (doubling of voices is allowed).
5.4.2. The program should consist of two diverse or one extended work, performed acoustically (without phonogram and microphones).
5.4.3. The participation of teachers in the vocal ensemble is not allowed. Participation of a professional accompanist is allowed. The accompanist is not included in the number of participants.
5.4.4. Performance duration:
- age group - elementary music school / children's art school - up to 5 minutes
- age group - secondary music school students - up to 6 minutes
- age group - professional performers - up to 7 minutes
- age group - teachers - up to 7 minutes
5.5 Nomination "Large instrumental ensemble" (from 6 to 12 performers)
5.5.1. The program should consist of two diverse or one extended work. An accompanist is allowed.
5.5.2. Performance duration:
- age group - students of elementary music school / children's art school - up to 5 minutes
- age group - secondary school students - up to 6 minutes
- age group - professional performers - up to 7 minutes
- age group - teachers - up to 7 minutes
5.6 Nomination "Orchestra"
5.6.1. The program consists of one extended work or several (at least two) works of different character.
5.6.2. The participation of teachers, illustrators or accompanists is allowed, however, not more than 10% of the total number of participants. The conductor is not included in the number of teachers. Performance duration:
- age group - up to 5 minutes
- age group - up to 7 minutes
5.7. Exceeding the time limit is strictly prohibited. In case of exceeding the time limit, the jury has the right to interrupt the performance of the participants.
5.8. All participants in the in-person format must be at the venue of the competition in advance and need to personally confirm their participation at registration. Participants must be ready to go on stage at least 30 minutes before the start of the performance.
6. Requirements for the application and video recording
6.1. To participate in the competition:
- Fill out an application on the competition website https://sonostemporis.ru => Contest => Application.
- Vocalists attach to the application a file with a soundtrack (minus) max. 15 MB.
- For the remote format: place the video of the competitor on the services like "YouTube", "RuTube" or a cloud disk. The link to the video must be indicated in the application form.
- Pay the competition fee (it is obligatory to indicate the name of the participant or the name of the ensenble or orchestra in the payment)
6.2. Acceptance of the application and payment of the participant will be confirmed by e-mail within 7 working days.

6.4. The video recording of each work must be in public access, continuous, without editing the picture and editing the sound. Breaks are allowed in the recording between works. You can send a video recording as one file or two files.
6.5. Performances can be recorded in a concert hall, classroom, at home, as well as during exams, tests, concerts and other performances.
Center for the Development of Culture and Education "SONOS TEMPORIS" in Saint-Petersburg (hereinafter Center) is a voluntary association of like-minded people who have united on the basis of their interests to support the development of culture and education in Saint-Petersburg and Russia. Center for the Development of Culture and Education "SONOS TEMPORIS" in Saint-Petersburg is not a corporate organization.
The Center, is carrying out its statutory activities, acts on the basis of the Federal Law "For Public Associations", the Charter of the organization in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation, the Constitution, the Civil Code and other regulatory legal acts of the Russian Federation.
OBJECTIVES AND SUBJECT OF ACTIVITY
The center was created for the following purposes:
- development and implementation of creative projects in the field of culture, art and education,
- development of international cooperation in the field of culture, art and education,
- development of creative potential and support for the professional growth of young performers,
- support for the improvement of the educational and educational process in music educational institutions and the improvement of the professionalism of students and teachers,
- supporting the exchange of experiences among pupils, students and teachers of music schools,
- promoting the preservation of the cultural heritage of Russia,
- implementation of educational activities in the fields of culture, art and education
The Center is managed by the executive director and our organizational manager Anastasia Shchukina. The implementation of the events is carried out by Matej Kozub, director and artistic chief of the contest.
The subject of activity is the development of artistic and methodological components and the organization of events in the field of culture, art and education in St. Petersburg and Russia: including competitions, festivals, concerts, creative meetings, masterclasses, seminars and similar events. The organization does not carry out income-generating activities.

To the competition are invited to the following:
students of elementary music schools (music schools, children's art schools, aesthetic education centers, musical lyceums, etc.); students of secondary music schools; teachers; professional performers.
1. Soloists - Wind and percussion instruments, Vocal art (solo singing, duet) - pop vocal or jazz vocals.
2. Instrumental ensembles of small (2-5 performers) or large forms (6-12 performers), in standard instrumental groups or in free form: the set of participating musical instruments is free. (for details see Program)
3. Small vocal ensembles: a duet, trio, or quartet, consisting of 2 to 8 participants (doubling of voices is allowed).
4. Orchestras of the elementary music schools and secondary music schools. The category "Orchestra" can only be performed in remote format.
Participants will be divided into competitive nominations by age groups. The age of the performer is determined on the day of the Competition (the application indicates the full number of years - the age group).
A soloist can apply for only one competitive program in the same solo nomination. Participants can compete unlimited in several different nominations or in different ensembles unlimited, by submitting a separate application and fee for each nomination.

The "Sonos Temporis" competition, in English "Sounds of Time", was founded in 2021 and immediately distinguished itself by the presence of participants from several regions of Russia and even abroad. In this way, the competition raised its status to the interregional and international level.
The organizer of the competition is the Public Organization "St. Petersburg Center for the Development of Culture and Education "Sonos Temporis" with thr support of the Department of Chamber Ensemble of the St. Petersburg State Conservatory named after N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov.
The jury of the competition consists of leading specialists from cultural and educational institutions of St. Petersburg, Russia and other countries.
The competition is aimed at a wide range of participants: students of music schools and children's art schools, music courses and studios, students of secondary musical educational institutions and adult performers, soloists and teachers of cultural institutions. Participants get the opportunity to perform on competition and concert stages in St. Petersburg, the assessment of a professional international jury, the opportunity to consult their performance with jury members, the opportunity to listen to colleagues from other institutions and regions, exchange experiences and start friendship and professional communication with colleagues. The competition will be held in-person and remote format, by video recording.
The goals of the competition unite common interests, first of all, these are:
- Promoting the professional growth and development of young performers;
- Identification and support of talents at the national and international level;
- Development of the best traditions of modern music performance;
- Improving the educational process in schools and the professionalism of students and teachers;
- Active exchange of experience among students and teachers in the field solo and ensemble music;
- Strengthening of international relations in the field of art and education;
- Preservation and support of musical culture influence in the aesthetic education of youth;
The competition takes place in Russia, in the city of St. Petersburg, in the northern capital of culture, art, education and science.
